Marland “Bud” Ray Linson, 93, of Russiaville, passed away Thursday April 17, 2025, at his home. He was born in Tipton County, IN, on May 22, 1931, the son of the late Raymond Oliver and Anna Lucille (Cox) Linson.
Bud was a 1949 graduate of Prairie High School. His life was heavily revolved around farming as he was a farmer his entire life. He helped farm for the Warden, Reel, Lybrook, and Tolbert families in and around Howard County. He raised hogs as a young boy starting in 1937 until 2005. Bud was a very social man who never knew a stranger. He was a hard-working man, and he loved joking around with people. Bud was an avid Indiana University basketball fan. He was passionate about all animals and often cared for stray animals.
He is survived by his sister, Joan Lamm; sister-in-law, Linda Linson; nieces and nephews, John (Dorena) Taylor, Greg (Freida) Taylor, Diana (Bill) Morgan, Michelle Creviston, Deanna (Tim) Shane, Beth (Brian) Jordan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, James Linson, Richard Linson, Iris Taylor Harrell; brother-in-law, Don Lamm; and niece, Sue Williams.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1 to 4 pm Sunday April 27, 2025, at Stout & Son Funeral Home – Russiaville Chapel, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, IN 46979. A funeral service celebrating Bud’s life will begin at 1 pm on Monday April 28, 2025, at the funeral home with Ken Rushing officiating. Burial will follow in Russiaville Cemetery.
