Marilyn Kay Clifton, 80, of Orlando, FL, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, at her home with her four daughters and her best friend/ex-husband, Myron Carter by her side. She was born on July 20, 1945, the daughter of Lloyd E. and Thelma A. (Flora) Patrick. She married Gary L. Clifton who preceded her in death on December 5, 1997. Marilyn spent the last 25 years of her life with her first husband, Myron G. Carter and daughter, Brenda Carter, in Orlando, FL.
She was a graduate of Flora High School and worked as a supervisor at General Motors and previously as a bus driver and paraprofessional for Orange County Schools. Marilyn enjoyed crocheting and celebrating holidays and birthdays with her family. She enjoyed going to the beach and spending time with her family in the pool in their backyard. She was a member of Mier Church in Converse, IN and Eastside Freewill Church in Thelma, KY.
Marilyn is survived by her daughters, Teresa Carter, Brenda Kay Carter, Rhonda Carter, and Angie Carter Bowen; granddaughters, Brittany Weaver, Breanna Fair, Tiffany Bowen, and Alicia Tapia; grandsons, Andrew Bowen, Ian Bowen, Josh Brown and Joseph Brown; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Daniel Lloyd Patrick; sisters, Bernadine Patrick and Susan Jo Patrick and first husband, Myron G. Carter.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gary L. Clifton and parents, Lloyd and Thelma Patrick; and brother, Dwight Evan Patrick.
A funeral service celebrating Marilyn’s life will take place at 1 pm Monday, March 23, 2026, at Stout & Son Funeral Home-Neptune Chapel, 44 Michigan Rd., Burlington, with Jeff Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Ball Hill Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11 am until the start of the service on Monday at the funeral Home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home in Orlando, FL and Stout & Son Funeral Home.
