Marie F. Parsons, 95, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025. She was born on August 1, 1929, in Kokomo, a daughter of Benjamin B. and Margaret T. (Eckert) Bell. On February 3, 1951, she married Richard E. Parsons at St. Joan of Arc Church in Kokomo. He preceded her in death on February 24, 1997.
Marie was a 1946 graduate of West Middleton High School and attended IUK for secretarial studies. She worked as a school secretary at Lafayette Park and Pettit Park for 20 years. She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. She enjoyed morning walks at the mall aka “doughnuts at Dan’s”. Marie also enjoyed her Euchre Club, cooking, watching the Pacer’s, going camping, and spending time with family.
Marie is survived by her children, Rick (Cathy) Parsons, Sharon (Scott) Kesler, Gary (Jane) Parsons, and Sandy (Stan) McNulty; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brother, Robert (Kate) Bell; sisters-in-law, Pat Bell and Doris Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Margaret Bell, sisters, Mary Strong, and Joann Thomas; brothers, Richard Bell, Benjamin Bell Jr, and William Bell.
The family would like to thank the staff at Fivestar Northwoods Senior Living for the excellent care provided to Marie and her family.
A private family service will take place on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. Burial will take place in Barnett Cemetery. Shirley & Stout Funeral Homes has been entrusted with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made in Marie’s name to the American Cancer Society or Shiloh United Methodist Church.
