Marian Elaine (Staton) Thompson, 91 years old, formerly of Kokomo, IN, passed away 1:00 pm Tuesday March 24, 2026, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. She was born in Earl Park, IN, on August 7, 1934, the daughter of the late James G. and Nina “Jo” (Hall) Staton. On August 4, 1957, she married Robert V. Thompson, and he preceded her in death on December 24, 2010.

Marian was a 1954 graduate of Connersville High School. She completed cosmetology school in 1958 and worked in Connersville as a beautician. She was a homemaker and the best caretaker. Marian was the most kind and caring lady who never met a stranger. She was an animal lover in general, but especially adored dogs and her Boxers. She was a competitive person while playing Bingo. Her favorite hobbies were reading, crocheting blankets for We Care, completing puzzles and word puzzles, and bowling. She was a former member of Chapel Hill Christian Church.

Marian is survived by her children, Sherri (Stan Conwell) Thompson-Pygman, Jeanette (John Mendenhall) Cross, Bob (Mary) Thompson Jr., 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, sister, Kate Robins; and countless nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, James Staton, Bob Staton, Don Staton, George Staton, Wayne Staton; sister, Shirley Staton; grandchildren, Brandi Fye, Joey Conwell; and great-great-grandson, Ares Vawter.
