Marian Seagrave, 99, passed away at 3:12 am on Friday, January 7, 2022, at Waterford Health Campus. She was born on February 13, 1922, to the late Charles and Clara (Milligan) Maddox. She married Ned D. Seagrave in 1940 and he preceded her death on March 15, 2010.
Marian attended Kokomo High School. She worked for Delco Electronics and retired after 19 years. She was a member of Morning Star Church and had a special relationship with Pastor Greg Reed, her nephew. She loved going to garage sales and collecting antiques. She dearly loved her family and was always worried about everyone but herself.
Marian is survived by her children Rick (Carolyn) Seagrave and Steve Seagrave; sisters, Lucy Reed and Clara Oliver; grandchildren, Dawn Schafer, Jeff (Gina) Seagrave, Joe (Mary) Seagrave, Mike (Laura) Seagrave, Scott Seagrave, Doug Seagrave, Steph (Doug) Weigt and Tony (Jenny) Seagrave; great grandchildren, Kohlton Seagrave, Sam Seagrave, Claire Seagrave, Carson Seagrave, Conner Seagrave, Andrew Seagrave, Sophie Weigt, Raymond Weigt, Lucy Weigt, Katelynn Seagrave, Anthony Seagrave and Owen Seagrave; several great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; sons, David Seagrave and Ned Seagrave Jr.; daughter-in-law, Beverly Seagrave; brothers, Ed Maddox, Clee Maddox, Jim Maddox, Gene Maddox, Lewis Maddox, Floyd Maddox, Garland Maddox, and Joe Maddox and several brothers and sisters in law.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Wellbrooke, Waterford, Paradigm Hospice and her special friend Sherry Rhoades. The family always appreciated the thoughtfulness of her neighbors as well.
In keeping with the family’s wishes a private service will be held. A 100th Birthday celebration will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Shirley & Stout Funeral Homes & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
