Margaret Ellen Bitner

Margaret Ellen Bitner passed away Monday, March 5, 2018. Margie was born Sept. 29, 1954, in Kokomo and lived in Kokomo all her life. She was one of eight children of Ed and Jeanie Bitner.

Margaret loved and was loved by many. She had two dear friends, Minnie Hendrix and Connie Griswell. They loved card games and bingo, going to Jamie’s Soda Fountain and listening to bands.

Cancer was a constant problem for 13 years. This last time was the most brutal. Through it all she kept her sense of humor.

Missing her most are her daughter, Amanda and her friend, Joe; grandchildren, Joseph, Jayden, Jordan; four sisters, Carolyn (Lee) Miller, Peru, Linda Sholty, Kokomo, Bonnie Nelson, Galveston, Debbie Dishon, Kokomo; and a brother, Eddie Bitner.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Elaine Midget; a brother, Bill Bitner; a niece, Carrie Bitner; and a great-nephew.

Funeral service will be held at Noon Monday, March 12, 2018, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, Jefferson Street Chapel, 414 West Jefferson Street.  Burial will follow in sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11-12 pm Monday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Margaret’s daughter, Amanda Bitner to help with final expenses.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
