Lori Lynn Krebes, 63, Kokomo, formerly of Merrillville, went home to meet the Lord peacefully on Sunday, November 23, 2025, comforted by her partner, Michael Whiteman, in his home.
Lori was born in Gary and lived most of her life in Kokomo. She graduated from Andrean High School in 1980 and continued to Indiana Dental College. Her professions were being a manager at Seville Restaurant and then a waitress at Frittatas Restaurant for several decades. She thrived at her craft by bringing a smile to everyone’s face quicker than she could turn a plate.
Lori will be remembered for her kindness and fierce loyalty to her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, camping, cooking, and eating good food, and she was a passionate Colts fan who always knew what time the game was on. Most of all, she enjoyed a good laugh surrounded by those she loved.
Lori’s favorite holiday was Christmas. She loved ornaments, taking time to decorate her tree, and (professionally) wrapping presents. Her loss leaves a big void in the lives of those she loved. Nancy says there is no one else like her – Lori made the room shine.
Lori is survived by her mother, Nancy Bihlman; aunts, Marilyn Watkins, Peggy (George) Weber, and Jeanie Bihlman; sister-in-law, Debra Bihlman; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; stepchildren, Matt Gaddy, Mira Warner, and Maja Allman; step grandchildren, Aubriee, Zayla, and Wyatt Nolan Warner, and Aurelia and Charlotte Allman; partner, Michael Whiteman; furry friend, Ms. Ruby-Rose; and special “besties”, Debbie Triplett and Lori Mekola.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Elmer and Frieda Morrow, Lawrence and Sophia Bihlman; father, Lawrence Bihlman, Jr.; brother, Lawrence Bihlman III; uncle, Robert Bihlman; and partner, James Craig Peterson.
Special thanks to Mike and his family for caring for Lori in her final days.
A memorial service celebrating Lori’s life will be held at 3 pm on Saturday March 7, 2026, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W Lincoln Road, Kokomo. Friends may visit the family from 2pm to 3 pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
In the meantime, please raise a glass (Lori would prefer bubbles), as we toast Lori. In her honor, cherish your loved ones and tell them how much they mean to you, every day. Merry Christmas Lori. We Love you!
