Kenneth "Kenny" Russell Humphrey

Kenneth “Kenny” Russell Humphrey, 78 years old, of Kokomo, passed away 9:49 pm Wednesday April 1, 2026, at St. Vincent 86th Street Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. He was born in Kokomo, IN, on June 14, 1947, the son of the late Russell and Alberdeen (Frick) Humphrey. On September 13, 1975 he married Marcheta Ousley Humphrey at First Christian Church in Kokomo, and she survives.

Kenny was a 1965 graduate of Kokomo High School. He earned his undergraduate accounting/business degree from Purdue University. He later achieved a Master’s in Business Administration from Indiana University. He proudly served our country in the United States Army as an Infantry Unit Commander. Kenny was a third-generation owner and operator of Humphrey Printing Co. until his retirement in 2015. He was an active and supportive father and grandfather. He attended his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. He was described as a character with a great sense of humor. He was passionate about golf. He was the inaugural coach of the Kokomo Middle School boy’s golf team. He spent a lot of time on the links at the Kokomo Country Club or cracking jokes at the stag bar. Kenny was a member of the Y’s Men Club, Rotary Club, Howard Co. Historical Society, and he attended Abundant Life Church. Some of his favorite times were spent at his cottage on Klinger Lake.

In addition to his wife Marcheta, Kenny is survived by his children, Kay Humphrey, Jayne Guerrieri (fiancé Mario Clarizia), Patrick “PJ” (Anny) Humphrey; grandchildren, Kayleigh Johnson, Gage Guerrieri, Morgan Guerrieri, Diego Izarra-Giordanelli, Keanu Humphrey; sisters, Nancy Humphrey Lehocky, Jill Humphrey Leff; nephews, Dr. Jim Lehocky, Dean Lehocky, Shane Leff; and brother-in-law, Larry Ousley.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 pm to 6 pm Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, IN 46902. A funeral service celebrating Kenny’s life will be held at 11 am Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the funeral home. Military honors will be offered by the United States Army and the Kokomo VFW Military Rites Team to begin the funeral at 11 am. A link will be available at the bottom of Kenny’s obituary page to view the funeral live. Burial will take place in Crown Point Cemetery at a later date.
