Kay Anna Rees Obituary

Kay Anna Rees, 91, of Greentown, passed away 1:36 pm Thursday May 29, 2025, at Community Howard Regional Health in Kokomo. She was born in Summittville, IN, on April 27, 1934, the daughter of the late James and Velma (Morris) Rees. On June 7, 1953, she married Marvin J. Rees in West Middleton, IN, and he preceded her in death on October 18, 2007.

Kay was a 1952 graduate of Cowan High School. After high school she worked at Union Bank & Trust Co. Kay was a homemaker and caretaker for her husband and three children. She had an incredible sense of humor. She enjoyed reading and keeping up with the news and current events. She was a Past Matron and 50 plus year member of Greentown Chapter 195 Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her children, Michael (Nancy) Rees, Penn Yan, NY, Jane Meyer, Bellbrook, OH; grandchildren, Alexander J. (Celeste) Rees, Penfield, NY, Thomas J. (Kathryn Farrell) Rees, Albany, NY, Bradley K. Meyer; and great-grandchildren, Clara Rees, George Rees, Zola Rees.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Velma Rees; husband, Marvin J. Rees; and son, Kenneth A. Rees.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10 to 11 am Wednesday June 4, 2025, at Hasler & Stout Funeral Home, 112 E. Main St., Greentown, IN 46936. A funeral service celebrating Kay’s life will begin 11 am on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden in Kokomo.
