Kay Jean Frazer

Kay Jean Frazer, 71, Kokomo, passed away at 8:45 am Friday May 3, 2019, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.  She was born April 8, 1948, in Kokomo, the daughter of the late Donald J. “Jiggs” & Martha Marcella (Dwyer) Frazer. 

Kay was a 1966 graduate of Northwestern High School, and a graduate of Huffer Beauty College.  She served as a beautician for 13 years.   Kay worked for Cabot Corporation, and spent 33 years as a curator at the Elwood Haynes Museum from 1979 until her retirement in 2013.  She was a board member for the convention and visitors bureau.   Kay was a member of the North West Carriage and Sleigh Association, and T.R.A.I.L.  She had been a guest speaker throughout the State of Indiana at Aglow Fellowships, churches, and Compassionate Friends.  She enjoyed Horse riding, and dog grooming and training.  Kay was a member of Morning Star Christian Church. 

Kay is survived by her siblings, Marita Clare (Elmer) Hileman, Dr. Jay Busby “Buzz” (Diana) Frazer, and Nola Jo “JoJo’ (Harvey) Zinschlag; step-sister, Christy Ann Richcreek Haynes; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Donna Dell (Mark) Daily; step-mother, Christine Richcreek Frazer; and step-sister, Christy Ann (Raymond) Richcreek Haynes. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday May 10, 2019, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Pastor Greg Reed officiating.  Burial will follow in Crown Point Cemetery.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11-1 pm Friday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kay’s memory to Morning Star Church, or the Kokomo Humane Society.  Messages of condolence may be made online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
