Julie Ann Harris, 52, Roanoke, passed away at 5:01pm on Friday March13, 2026, at her home. She was born in Kokomo on December 6, 1973,to Joseph H. Markert and Sandra Lou (Corthell) Inks. She married Danial Harris on May 30, 1996, in Kokomo, and he survives.
Julie graduated from Westen High School in 1992 and attended I.U.K. She worked for General Motors for the last six to seven years and was a manager at Schlotzkys deli before that. She was a loving daughter, mom, and Mimi. She enjoyed playing fall softball, and spending time with her grandchildren was very important to her. Julie always tried to help and stand up for those individuals who could not for themselves.
Along with her husband of 30 years, Danial, Julie is survived by her mother, Sandra (Roger) Inks; children, Kylee (Nathan) Green, Parker Harris (Ashley Pervez), Kassidy Harris; grandchildren, Gabriella Duke, Jeffrey Duke Jr., Aubrey Harris-Young, Amias Harris-Young, Azera Young, and Anaya Watson; mother-in-law, Kathy Harris; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph H. Markert; and brother, Joseph “J” F. Markert.
A funeral service celebrating Julie’s life will take place at 1pm on Thursday March 19, 2026, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E Main St., Russiaville, with William Harris officiating. Friends may visit the family from 11am – 1pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Following the service we will have lunch at The Well Church 1128 S. Purdum St. Kokomo Memorial contributions may be made to Stout & Son Funeral Home to help cover final expenses. Messages of condolence may be left online at www.stoutandson.com.
