Judith “Judy” Ann Wininger, 80, of Kokomo, passed away at 7:41 pm, Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at her home. She was born on December 11, 1945, in Marion, IN, the daughter of Harold and Freda Marie (James) Nuss. On December 12, 1982, she married Gene “Bob” Robert Wininger in Kokomo, and he survives.
Judy was a 1963 graduate of Marion High School. She worked as a secretary at McKinley School for 20 years. She also worked at Piece of the Pie Pizza where she was the manager and Taco Grande. Judy would participate in doll classes where she would make dolls and enjoyed collecting dolls as well. She enjoyed shopping and her casino trips where she enjoyed her time at the slot machines. Judy loved her dog and cat, Lucy and Desi.
Along with her husband of 43 years, Bob Wininger, she is survived by her children, Ranita (Scott) Shinn, Shelly (Dave) Dobbins, Deanna Jones, Christie (Connie) Wininger, Billy (Brandi) Wininger, and Danny Wininger; grandchildren, Leanne (William) Guerre, Samantha (Jordan) Johnston, Derek (Hannah) Dobbins, Nathan (Jordie) Shinn, Michael (Emily) Shinn, Adelyn (Noah) Osip, Amanda (Hunter) Purtee, Rebekah (Daltyn) Childers, Kelsi (Natasha) Jones, Calib Wininger, Jessica Wininger, and Krysta Cornelius; 8 great-grandchildren; close cousins, Larry Pendry and DeWayne James; and nieces, Tami (Bruce) Amos and Peggy Tygart.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Freda Nuss and siblings, Phyllis Denton and Robert “Bobby” Nuss.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2 pm to 5 pm, Sunday, March 29, 2026, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd, Kokomo.
