Joyce Ann (Lidy) Hinkle-Harrington

Joyce Ann (Lidy) Hinkle- Harrington, 75, of Kokomo, passed away Monday June 20, 2022, at Ascension St. Vincent – Kokomo. She was born the fourth of twelve children, in Howard County on January 5, 1947, the daughter of the late Clarence and Lois (Prather) Lidy. She married Carl “Dick” Hinkle on January 8, 1965, and he preceded her in death on December 1, 1984. She married Henry Harrington on December 20, 1986, and he preceded her in death on January 13, 2009.

Joyce attended Kokomo High School. She worked for 41 years at Chy’s Café until her retirement in 2010. She loved her family unconditionally and came from an exceptionally close family. Joyce enjoyed cooking, cleaning, and listening to country music. She loved watching NASCAR and her favorite driver was Tony Stewart. She attended Wesleyan Methodist Church every Sunday when she was a young girl with her mother and siblings.

Joyce is survived by her sister, Janet Pearcy; brothers, Don (Ann) Lidy, Jerry (Pearlie) Lidy, Danny (Kathie Hill) Lidy, Roy (Traci) Lidy, John (Joann) Lidy; stepchildren, Eldon Harrington, Sharon (Dusty) Fivecoate; step-grandchildren, Matthew Harrington, Tyler Harrington, Linzi Harrington, Ashley Hite, Anthony Miller, Jimmy Jones, April Jones; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Lois Lidy; husbands, Carl Hinkle, Henry Harrington; siblings, Alice Lidy, Rex Lidy, Ray Lidy, Gene Lidy, Bill Lidy; brother-in-law, Jerry Pearcy, sisters-in-law, Norence Lidy, Brinna Lidy; nephews, Tim Lidy, Mark Lidy; stepdaughter, Karent Harrington McDougall.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 to 7 pm Monday June 27, 2022, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, IN 46902. Funeral service will begin at 11 am Tuesday June 28, 2022, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Kokomo Memorial Park Cemetery.
