John W. Hambaugh Jr.

John W. Hambaugh Jr., 77, of Kokomo, passed away at 4:43 am, Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Community Howard Regional Hospital in Kokomo. He was born on July 16, 1948, the son of John Hambaugh Sr. and Jeanette Shelton.

John was a welder at Jeffboat for about 15 years. He enjoyed playing music in his “Family Band”. John also enjoyed playing video games, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.

John is survived by his children, John (Holly Abney) Hambaugh III; grandchildren, James Hambaugh and Arya Abney; siblings, Monna Bouchey, Cindy Bouchey, and Sandy Bouchey; and good friends, Mike & Michelle King.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Jacob Hambaugh; and brothers, Rick Hambaugh and Wayne Hambaugh.

In keeping with John’s wishes, no services will be held. Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
