John Thelbert Reecer
Obituary
John Thelbert Reecer, 91, Greentown, passed away at 11 am on Wednesday January 12, 2022, at Community Howard Regional Health System. He was born in Clay County, TN., on May 11, 1930, to the late Hunter and Callie (Dunning) Reecer. In Kokomo, at Main Street Methodist Church, he married Janet Sue Long, on August 13, 1965.
John was a Millwright for Chrysler and he retired in 1995. He was member of the Masonic Lodge #341 in Greentown, Masonic Temple in Indianapolis, the Kokomo Shrine Club and Murat Shriners in Indianapolis. He was in the Indiana National Guard.
Along with his wife, John is survived by his children, Karen (Frank) Sheasley, Jeffrey (Judi) Reecer, Lynn Whiteman, and Gregory (Jerri) Long; 7 grandchildren; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Dona Savage, Lonnie Reecer, Everett Reecer, Avery Reecer, and Buddie Reecer.
A Masonic Service will be held at 2 pm on Monday, January 17, 2022, at Hasler & Stout Funeral Home, 112 East Main St. Greentown. Burial to follow in Mast Hensler Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 12 pm to 2 pm on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Greentown Masonic Lodge.
