Jimmie Max Parker

Jimmie Max Parker, 87, of Michigantown, passed away Monday evening, January 3, 2022, at Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born at home in Camden, IN on September 29, 1934, the son of the late Russell and Elsie (Barber) Parker. On May 31, 1954, he married Jean Carol Moss, and she survives.

Jimmie was a 1952 graduate of Burlington High School. He worked as a self-employed farmer his entire life and also retired from Frito Lay in Frankfort. Jimmie was a devoted member of Heart of Fire Church in Frankfort. He was also an avid sports fan who watched almost any sports on television. His favorite team was the St. Louis Cardinals as he grew up listening to their games on radio station KMOX growing up. Jimmie was an independent man, but he valued the relationships he shared with his family, his church, and his friends throughout his farming career.

In addition to his wife, Jimmie is survived by his sons, Michael Douglas Parker, James Scott (Sharon) Parker, Jonathon Brett Parker; grandchildren, Nadia Parker, Max (Kristen) Parker, Cassie (Brian) VerVaet, Allayna Parker; great-grandchild, Raelyn Parker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Elsie Parker; infant son, Brian Curtis Parker; and siblings, Basil Parker, Wilma McCain, Meredith Parker, and David Parker.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11 am to 1 pm Monday January 10, 2022, at Stout & Son Funeral Home –Burlington Chapel, 44 Michigan Street, Burlington, IN 46915. Funeral service will begin at 1 pm on Monday at the funeral home, with Pastor John Drexler officiating. Masks are strongly suggested by the family for any guests that attend the visitation or funeral service. Private burial will take place in Burlington Cemetery.
