Jessica “Jessi” Joanne (Hackler) Shipley, 48 years old, of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away Wednesday October 15, 2025. She was born on December 11, 1976, the daughter of David Hackler and Sally (Ailor) Earlywine. On October 27, 2011, she married Andrew “Drew” Shipley in Fort Myers, Florida, and he preceded her in death on July 2, 2020.
Jessi was a 1995 graduate of Western High School. She attended Purdue University and recently received an Associate’s degree in nursing from South College. She was currently employed as a surgical veterinary technician. Jessi was the best mother to her girls. She adored the time spent with them, her family, and her friends. She was kind to everyone and held a special love for all animals. She loved hiking and witnessing many beautiful waterfalls throughout Tennessee. She also enjoyed relaxing on the beaches of Southwest Florida.
She is survived by her daughters, Charis Garcia, Chaylen Garcia, Emerie Garcia, all of Cape Coral; stepdaughter, Alina Garcia of Palm Beach, FL; father, David Hackler, Spring Hill, TN; siblings, Stephanie (Brandon) Beck, Westfield, IN, Emily (Nathan Kooi) Hackler, Demotte, IN, Nick Hackler, Spring Hill, TN; step-brother, Austin Earlywine, Kokomo, IN; aunts and uncles, Jeannie Sciortino, James (Cory) Hackler, Robert Hackler, Carol Hackler, Richard (Gail) Hackler, Debbie (Mike) Orr, Jim Ailor; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Drew Shipley; mother, Sally Earlywine, stepfather, Kurt Earlywine; step-sister, Brittney Earlywine; grandparents, Albert and Edna Hackler, Ethel Ailor; aunts Susie Hackler, Kelly Carpenter, Amy Reed, and uncle, Steve Sciortino.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2 to 3 pm Saturday November 22, 2025, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, IN 46902. A Celebration of Life will begin at 3 pm on Saturday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in Jessi’s memory to an animal shelter of your choice.
