Jeffrey Robert Stine, 83, was welcomed home to his Lord and Savior early in the morning of June 15, 2026. He passed peacefully in his sleep.
A lifelong resident of Kokomo, Indiana, Jeff graduated from Kokomo High School and proudly served in the National Guard. He dedicated 32 years of service to Chrysler Kokomo Transmission Plant before enjoying retirement, during which he worked at Buttons car dealership and never met a stranger.
Jeff was devoted to his wife and soulmate, Marla. Together, they loved opening their home to family and friends, going for long drives, and spending their winters in Florida. Jeff enjoyed golfing, fishing, and bowling. Perhaps most of all, Jeff relished beating everyone at his favorite card game, Wizard, wearing the sly grin that he was known so well for.
A faithful follower of Christ, Jeff attended both Bible Baptist and Abundant Life churches and celebrated the 59th anniversary of his salvation on Easter Sunday earlier this year. He will be remembered for living a life unashamed of his faith and convictions, always eager to share the hope he found in Jesus. Before his passing, Jeff shared these words: “If I have learned anything in my life, it is this: If we want to spend eternity with our Creator, we must be found in Him before we leave this life.”
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Gloria and Robert Stine; his brother, Gregory Stine; and his son, Benjamin Stine.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Marla Stine; his son, John (Traci) Stine; stepchildren Sean, Chad, Nathan (Sandy), and Jama (Lindsay) Bradfield; and several grandchildren: Kylie, Caden, Solomon (Lauren), and Simon Stine; Christopher, Maleah (Jarek) Perry, Ava, Tucker, Aubrey, Gabriel, and Jonathon Bradfield.
While his family grieves his absence, they rejoice knowing he is now in the presence of the Lord, and they will see him again one day.
A funeral service celebrating Jeff’s life will be held at 12 pm, Wednesday, June 24, at the Abundant Life Church, 865 400 S, Kokomo, IN 46902, in the Life Center. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the United States Army and the Kokomo VFW Military Rites Team. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11 am until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kokomo Rescue Mission, kokomorescuemission.org. Messages of condolences may be made at www.shirleyandstout.com.
