Janice Faye (Carter) Horn

Janice Faye Horn, 84, Kokomo, passed away on Monday June 5, 2023, at Community Howard Regional Health System.  She was born in Harlan, KY on July 22, 1938, the daughter of the late Garnett and Effie (Burgan) Carter.  She married Eldon Horn in Jellico, TN, on March 10, 1984, and he preceded her in death on April 8, 2009. 

Janice took pride in her home. She and Eldon were members of Eagles Lodge. She enjoyed trips to Hoosier Park, crafting with flowers, and keeping up with family and friends on Facebook. 

Janice is survived by her children, Bobby (Connie) Jones, Rhonda (Kenny) Cockrell, Cindy Jones, Glenda (Danny) Casteel, Brian (Kim) Jones, Kathy (Donnie) Titus, and Jon Jones (Angela McKinley); grandchildren, Christine (Brent) Wines, Jennifer (Ryan) Preston, Chastity (Jason) Stroud, Jessica (Cory) Shuck, Deanna (Shawn) Durham, Jordan Best, Michael (Amanda) Casteel, Carrie Casteel, Amber (Matt) Woolever, Daniel (Airelle) Casteel, Kassie Wright, Nick Jones, Nathan (Emily) Jones, Katelyn (Raistlin) Coppernoll, Collin Christopher, Joseph (Katie) Jones, Connor Jones (fiancé Lydia Beck), and Blake Jones; 35 great grandchildren; brother, Charles Carter and her companion, Dewayne Hunt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Bobby Jones; second husband, Eldon Horn; 3 brothers, Ron Carter, Tracy Carter, and Garnett Carter Jr.; and 1 grandson, Chad Jones.

A funeral service will take place at 1 pm on Friday June 9, 2023, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Kenny Cockrell officiating.  Burial will follow in Mound Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 11 am to 1 pm on Friday at the funeral home.
