Janet Sue “James” Quirk, 88, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026. She was born on August 18, 1937, to Florence and Robert James.
Janet was a kind and loving soul whose life was centered around family. She found great joy in caring for others, especially the many children she babysat over the years, who came to love her as a grandmother. Her warmth, generosity, and gentle spirit touched countless lives, creating lasting bonds that extended far beyond her immediate family. She also dedicated many years of service, working at Delco, where she retired from. She married her beloved husband PD Quirk, on August 20, 1970. Together they celebrated 51 wonderful years of marriage.
Janet is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Wendy Cole; her grandchildren, Brittany and Zeth Lewis, Sara and Brendan Lewis, Jessica and Nathan Seagrave, Joshua and Kelly Taylor, Cody McCombs, Steven and Donal McCombs; her sisters-in-law, Myrtle James, Martha Quirk, Louise Glaze, Patty Quirk, Shirley Quirk; and her brothers-in-law, Wayne Quirk and Martin Quirk. She is also survived by many other nieces and nephews; her special chosen family, Michelle and Jackson; and her sweet companion, Noodles. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy in her great-grandchildren, Shayleigh, Zaiden, Carter, Iris, Nova, Braeden, and Zoe-Jane “Bumblebee” who will carry forward the love she gave so freely.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Florence and Robert James; her stepmother, Jean James; her brother, Robert James Jr.; her sister, Beverly McCombs; her beloved husband, P.D.; her son-in-law, Scott Cole; her nephew, Steve McCombs; her niece, Lori Morris; and several in-laws.
Janet lived a full and meaningful life, touching the hearts of everyone she met. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
