Janet Sue Flowers

Janet Sue (Clark) Flowers, 76, of Kokomo, passed away at 7:43 pm, on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at her home. She was born on October 29, 1949, the daughter of Donald and Doris (Anderson) Clark. On September 18, 1976, Janet married Alan Flowers, and he survives.

Janet was a graduate of Sharpsville High School. She received a Bachelor’s in Education from Ball State University and later a Master’s in Education from Indiana University. She worked as an elementary teacher at Taylor Community Schools for 34 years. Her favorite hobbies were quilting, baking, cooking, and sewing. She often spent time canning the vegetables from her garden. She attended the ConneXion Church in Kokomo where she was a Secretary of the Fa Ho Cha Sunday School  class. Janet will be remembered for having a warm, friendly personality and always willing to help others. She was affiliated with the Good Samaritans Organization along with the Quilt Guild. She liked exercising at the YMCA with friends, traveling, hiking and camping with her family.

In addition to her husband Alan, she is survived by her children, Bradley (Sandra) Flowers, Linda (Brian) Huffman; grandchildren, Brendan Huffman, Annabelle Huffman, and Vivienne Flowers; sisters, Rita (James) Teigen, Paula (Terry) O’Donnell; sisters-in-law, Sharon Smith, Debbie Vore; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Doris Clark; infant sister, Anita Clark; and brothers-in-law, Darrel Smith and Jerry Vore.

A funeral service celebrating Janet’s life will begin at 10:00 am Thursday December 11, 2025, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd, Kokomo with Pastors Riley Case and Jennifer Hancock officiating. Burial will follow at Sharpsville Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 pm to 7 pm Wednesday December 10, 2025, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The ConneXion Church.
