Janet J. (Makowski) Kyes

Janet J. Kyes, 79, Macy, passed away at 12:01 pm on Friday, January 13, 2017, at her home.  She was born on May 27, 1937, in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of John L. Jr. & Anita (Henner) Makowski. 

Janet was a 1955 graduate of Riverside High School in Wisconsin.  She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, the F.O.P. Auxiliary and the Moose Auxiliary.  Janet loved the lake life, along with sewing, quilting, bowling, and playing games.  

Janet is survived by her children, Dawn M. (Kent) Wilson, Kokomo, Debra A. (Chris) Appelhans, Kokomo, and Robert J. (Julie) Marchese, Logansport; brother, John L. (Audrey) Makowski, Colgate, WI; grandchildren, Chelsea M. (Adam) VanCamp, Ciera (Adam) Vega, Leah Exmeyer (Jeromy Carroll), Kristina Appelhans (Adam Jackowiak), Natalie (Tom) Norris, Bradley (Hayley) Marchese; grandson-in-law, Kyle Wong; great-grandchildren, Hayden Vega, Piper Vega, Adrian Nottingham, Jaxton Carroll, Lilly Wong, Landon Wong, and (due anytime) Hudson Marchese; brother-in-law, Richard Krueger, along with several nieces and nephews.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ralph Kyes, sister, Nancy Krueger, granddaughter, Karie Marchese Wong, and life companion, Byron Redmon.  

Funeral services for Janet will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 West Lincoln Road, with Pastor Ben Schlegel officiating.  Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5-7 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made in Janet’s memory to the Megan Ott Cancer Foundation, P.O.
