Jane Ann Dunn Obituary

Jane Ann (Ransopher) Dunn, 88, a lifelong resident of Frankfort, IN, passed away Tuesday June 24, 2025. She was born at home in Russiaville, IN, on January 26, 1937, the daughter of the late Marland and Mary (Farlow) Ransopher. On June 5, 1955, she married Glenn Dunn at the New London Friends Church, and he preceded her in death on August 4, 2011.

Jane Ann was a 1955 graduate of Western High School. She was a homemaker her entire life caring for her husband and their three sons. She was currently employed at Next Step Therapy. Jane Ann was musically gifted as she knew how to play piano, organ, flute, clarinet, hand bells, xylophone, and marimba. She was an excellent cook who was best known for her handmade yeast rolls. Her favorite past-time was playing Rook with her Rook gang. Jane Ann was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church in Michigantown. She will be remembered for her strong-willed demeanor.

She is survived by her sons, Lee (Dawn) Dunn, Ross (Sheryl) Dunn, Chadd Dunn; siblings, Ed (Marilyn) Ransopher, Susan (Ron) Thomas, Tad (Julia) Ransopher; grandchildren, Margo (Jay) Requard, Darrell (Makensey) Dunn, Scott (Taylor) Dunn, Todd (Brittany Fletcher) Dunn; great-grandchildren, Benjamin Requard, Krayton Dunn, Karley Dunn, Karson Dunn, Grady Dunn, Blakely Dunn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 9:30 am to 11:00 am Saturday June 28, 2025, at Stout & Son Funeral Home – Russiaville Chapel, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, IN 46979. A funeral service celebrating Jane Ann’s life will begin at 11 am on Saturday at the funeral home with Chaplain Deborah Musick officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery in Michigantown. Stout & Son Funeral Home – Russiaville Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
