James “Jim” Gordon Frye, 92, of Kokomo, passed away Friday May 8, 2026, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo. He was born in Kokomo, IN, on March 23, 1934, the son of the late James Gordon Frye Sr. and Mildred (Forysthe) Frye. On November 4, 1961, he married Mary Lou Isenogle, and she preceded him in death on March 25, 2013.
Jim was a 1953 graduate of Kokomo High School. He retired from General Motors. Jim was most passionate about his family and playing golf. He was the best G-Pa to his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. After he retired, Jim rated golf courses around the state of Indiana for the PGA. His other hobbies included gardening, watching old country western tv shows, and keeping a well-manicured lawn.
He is survived by his daughters, Debi Sipes, Luan (Roger) Cantu; 5 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister, Vicki Puett; son-in-law, Rick Sipes; step-sons, Rick Farmer and Nick Farmer; and grandson, James Farmer.
