James “Jim” Dale Lahee, 80, Kokomo, passed away at 6:43pm on Tuesday January 27, 2026, at home. He was born in Frankfort, IN. on March 11, 1945, the son of the late Vernon and Ann (Benefiel) Lahee. On May 5, 1987, he married Deborah “Deb” Daniels, in Elkhart, and she survives.
Jim graduated from Frankfort High School in 1963. He worked for Chrysler as a laser welder and retired after 38 years of service. Jim had a great sense of humor, was extremely loyal, practical, and resourceful. He loved to be out in nature, feeding deer and birds, and loved his cats, dogs, and parrot. Jim loved listening to music, especially Rock N Roll, and audiobooks.
Along with his wife Deborah Lahee, Jim is survived by his children, Rebecca (Harry) Sims, Debra (Brian) Ranieri, and Will (Andrea) Lahee; grandchildren, Hayley Ranieri, David “D.J.” Ranieri, Brooke Lahee, Alyssa Lahee, Brandon (Chelsea) Lahee, Nicholas Carrico, Zachary Carrico, and Jamie Sims; great grandchildren, Gene Lahee, Soraya Sims, and Kaylani Sims.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Vernon Lahee; sister, Diane Lahee, and large extended family of aunts and uncles.
A funeral service celebrating Jim’s life will take place at 1pm on Saturday February 7, 2026, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E Main St., Russiaville, with Pastor Dave Stout officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 12pm to 1 pm on Saturday at the funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Wildlife Federation or the World Wildlife Fund. Arrangements have been entrusted to Shirley & Stout Funeral & Crematory.
