James “Jim” Donald Maish, 84, from Kokomo, Indiana, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2019, in Omaha, Nebraska, after a long battle with COPD. He was born, in Kokomo, on December 29, 1934, to Rita and Enoch Maish. On August 19th, 1955, he married the love of his life, Carolyn (Iseminger) Maish. They went on to have a son, Michael, who passed away a few months after birth. They later adopted a daughter, Beth Ann.
Jim retired, in 1991, from Delco Electronics after 39 years of service. His hobbies included woodworking, traveling and camping. He attended Holy Cross Lutheran Church and was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Kokomo for over 50 years.
He is survived by wife, Carolyn Maish, of Kokomo, (currently living in Omaha); daughter and son-in law, Beth & Jeffrey Price, of Omaha; grandchildren, Lauren Peterson, of New York, New York, and Devon Peterson, of Omaha; and step-grandchildren, Brooke & Evan Price, also of Omaha. Also surviving are his stepmother-in-law, Monterose Iseminger, of Kokomo; a niece, Judy Lowe (who was more like a sister to Jim) and her children, Jason Chapman and Jane Ruppell, all of Washington, Indiana; and several other nieces and brothers and sisters-in-law who he cared for very much. He will truly be missed by so many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rita and Enoch Maish; son, Michael James Maish; and siblings, Mary Barber, Wallace Maish, William Maish, Clifford Maish and Cora Schott.
Services with Masonic Rites will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2019, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery.
