James Allen Summitt Sr.

Obituary

James Allen Summitt Sr., 63, Kokomo, passed away at 7:06 am on Tuesday June 14, 2022, at his home.  He was born to the late Edgar and Cuma (Leisure) Summitt on January 3, 1959. 

James served in the United States Army. He loved spending time with his family, especially the grandkids.  He enjoyed watching NASCAR and WWE Wrestling.  He liked being outside and working on racecars.  He was bad to the bone and goofy grandpa. 

James is survived by his children, James Summitt Jr., Jami (Jason) Johndrow, Jennifer (Jose) Summitt, Lisa Maine, Monica (Thomas) Summitt, Toni (Zach) Shutt, Timothy McClain, Maddison Parks, and Jaiden McClain; 23 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; siblings, Cuma Blanton, Julie Rhoton, Nancy Hair, Eddie Summitt and John (LeAnn) Antoin.

He was preceded in death by his parents. 

A funeral service will be held at 12 pm on Monday June 20, 2022, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10 am to 12 pm on Monday at the funeral home.
