Irma Strop Obituary

Irma Jean Strop, 85, Kokomo, passed away at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, November 1, 2019, at Waterford Place Health Campus in Kokomo. She was born August 12, 1934, in Kokomo, to Clarence and Gertrude (Hicks) Schrader. On September 24, 1954, she married James Lewis Strop, and he preceded her in death on October 15, 2019.

Irma graduated from Kokomo High School. She enjoyed sewing, drawing and cooking and cherished spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her son, Michael (Angela) Strop; grandchildren, Crisany (Troy) Zook and Zachery Strop; and great-grandchildren, Lola Zook, Lincoln Zook and Lex Zook.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to St. Vincent Hospice; social worker, Ellen Peirson; RN, Molly Roberts; and CNA, Michelle Ray.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; father and mother-in-law, James and Gladys Strop; and sister, Betty Rickles.

A private graveside service will be held at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Irma’s memory to St. Vincent Hospice.
