Holly Anne Mote

Holly Anne (Chasteen) Mote, 63, Kokomo went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 11, 2022. She was born December 2, 1958, in Kokomo, IN to Don F. and Jacqueline (Taylor) Chasteen. 

Holly attended Roberta Lineback’s Kindergarten and then entered first grade at Western in New London, going half days due to the tornado of 1965. She graduated from Western High School in 1977.  On December 8, 1978, she married James W. Mote in Kokomo at her parents’ home. 

After graduation, Holly worked at Haynes (Stellite) International for several years. Holly then worked at Chrysler Kokomo Transmission Plant before transferring to Indiana Transmission Plant 1 where she retired in 2005. Holly was a member of Local UAW 685.  She loved riding her Harley Davidson motorcycle, caring for her dogs, shopping at flea markets and taking care of her flower garden. 

She is survived by her son, David M (Jessica) Mote; grandchildren, Matthew and Addison Mote; her mother, Jacqueline; sisters, Stacy Chasteen, Dede Chasteen and Charlene Langreck; Best friends; Debbie (Farlow) Taylor, Rebecca Bowman and Jason Mote; and special friend; Bruce Huffer and his grandchildren Alizabeth, Hannah, Braxton, Harmony, and Laney Huffer who referred to Holly as their grandmother all of their lives. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Don F. Chasteen; maternal and paternal grandparents; and James W. Mote.   

A Celebration of Life will take place from 5 pm to 7 pm on Monday May 23, 2022 at the Jeff Stout Community Center, 650 N West St., Russiaville. Cremation has been entrusted to Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory.
