Herbert Vernon Fausett Obituary

Herbert Vernon Fausett, 100, Kokomo, passed away at 6:45 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Ascension St. Vincent, Kokomo. He was born January 19, 1926 in Clinton County to Arnold Dewey and Nellie (Morris) Fausett. On March 4, 1950 he married Patricia Ann Whiteman who preceded him in death on January 8, 2014.

Herb proudly served his country as a Quartermaster Third Class in the United States Navy in WWII from 1944 until 1946. He spent his civilian career working at Haynes International retiring after 30 years of service. Herb enjoyed bowling as well as being outdoors, whether he was fishing, golfing, or spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his loving and generous nature.

He is survived by his sons, Jeffery Fausett and Jerry (Trish) Fausett; grandchildren, Ryan (Britney) Kuhn, Bradford (Heather) Fausett, Morgan (Corey) Crum, Allison (Jake) Mathews, Justin Fausett, Jennifer Barker, Mandi Strain, Tara Willett, Chad Snyder, Brandon Daugherty, Thomas Fausett, Bradley Fausett, Tiffanie Rayl, Brandon Fausett, Tristan (Dave) Stevens, Joshua (Angelia) Quinn, Tania Quinn, and Jessica (Ken) Quinn McKain; 33 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; brothers, Lowell “Wayne” (Barbara) Fausett and Robert “Gene” (Rita) Fausett; sister, Viola Jarvis; and a sister-in-law, Peggy Fausett.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, children Rita and Joey Fausett; grandson, Justin Quinn; siblings, Arnold “Bud” (Beverly) Fausett, Mary (Dave) Moredock, Vaughn (Mary Ethel) Fausett, Paul Fausett, Arthur “Morrie” (Gini) Fausett, and Herman (Fredonna) Fausett; as well as a brother-in-law, Jack Jarvis.

Funeral services celebrating Herb’s life will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 West Lincoln Road with Pastor Doug Benham Officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Whiteman Cemetery, Michigantown. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
