Helen Louise (McCain) Crow, 82, of Greentown, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 2:44 pm on September 1, 2025. She was born in Kokomo, IN, on June 7, 1943, the daughter of the late Ralph and Mary Ruth (Arnett) McCain. On August 5, 1962, she married Larry E. Crow, and he survives.
Helen was a 1961 graduate of Prairie Township High School and later attended Marion College. She worked in the cafeteria at Eastern High School and later as a case manager at the Howard County Welfare Department for 19 years. Above all, Helen loved the Lord and loved her family. She was a fantastic Christian lady who wanted to be a light for Christ. She attended Crossroads Community Church – South Campus.
She was the best caretaker of her husband, their daughters, and their grandchildren. She was present and supportive of her grandchildren’s band competitions and golf matches. Her favorite hobbies were reading, crocheting, and camping. Some of her favorite trips were spending the winters in Florida with her husband Larry for 19 years. Helen will be remembered for being a sassy woman who loved to laugh and hear other people laugh.
In addition to her husband of 63 years Larry, Helen is survived by her daughters, Lynelle (Brian) Williams, Laura (Todd) Christlieb, Laveena (Jonathan) Gibson; grandchildren, Madeline Williams, Mariah Williams, Tiffany (Joshua) Carr, Jonas Gibson, Lauren Gibson; sister-in-law, Sondra Crow; and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Mary McCain; brother-in-law, Lowell Crow; and several cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held in memory of Helen. Contributions may be made in Helen’s memory to Crossroads Community Church c/o youth church camp fund. Hasler – Stout Funeral Home has been entrusted with cremation.
