Heather Hartman Obituary

Heather May Hartman, 33, Kokomo, entered in to the arms of Jesus at 5:00 am Friday, October 4, 2019, from her home, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born May 4, 1986, in Kokomo, the daughter of Tracy & Patti (Walgate) Parkins.  On May 5, 2007, she married Joshua Arthur Hartman who survives.

Heather was a 2004 graduate of Northwestern High School.  She earned her associate’s degree in nursing from Ivy Tech Community College in 2008.  Heather had worked as a nurse at Waterford Health Campus and St. Joseph Hospital.  She attended Chapel Hill Christian Church and enjoyed bow making, scrap booking, and crafting.  She also loved riding roller coasters with Jess, shopping with her sisters, vacationing with family in Tennessee and Florida, and especially cherished the time she spent with her children. 

Along with her husband Josh, Heather is survived by her children, Jessica, Noah, and Brooklyn; parents, Tracy and Patti Parkins; siblings, Alan (Chelsea) Parkins, Felisha (Jeffrey) Lapan, Hannah Parkins, and Sarah Polk, along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles; paternal grandmother, Janice Monroe; and paternal grandfather, Alva (Libby) Parkins.

Heather was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Mary Jo Glenn; paternal grandfather, Thomas Monroe; maternal grandfather, William Walgate; and nephew, Skyler Grant.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 10, 2019, at Chapel Hill Christian Church, 2600 W. Alto Road, Kokomo, with Pastor Steve Allen officiating.  Burial will follow in North Union Cemetery.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4-8 pm Wednesday at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made in Heather’s memory for her children’s education.  Shirley & Stout Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
