Harry Lee Young

Harry Lee Young, 61, Kokomo, was granted his wings on May 26, 2022, surrounded at home by his loving family.  He was born April 10, 1961, and raised by his parents Ethel Lee Green & Mickey Everett Young in the city of Kokomo. 

Harry was a hardworking person.  He loved to cut grass, hang out with his family and his best friends Frankie Young, Wayne Elliott and Darnell Brumfield and ride his bike.

Harry leaves to cherish his memory to his son, Harry Young Jr.; stepson, Zech (Mari) Hamlin; siblings, Mary Young, Gloria Jean Green, Ernestine Lewis all of Kokomo, twin brothers, Kent Green Young of Carson City, NV and Kenneth Green Young, Madison, WI, Willie (Irene) Green, Robert (Kim) Green and Randall Hoosier all of Kokomo; aunts, Pauline “Frances” Fletcher, Kokomo and Jana Cornelius, IL; uncle, Mike Cornelius, IL; 4 grandchildren, Aravella Young, Aniah Young, Liam Hamlin and Harper Hamlin, along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. 

The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice and team, Tiffany W., Jordana, Andrew and Derico, as well as nephew, Hinnie Young and Loratta Davis.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Terri Young; and siblings, Everett “Bones” Green and Rubi Woodard; uncle, Melvin Cornelius; niece, Derisha Young; and nephew, Ja’Kylan Chamberlain.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, June 17, 2022, at Fountain of Life Worship Center, 611 E. Jackson Street, Kokomo.  Burial will follow in Crown Point Cemetery.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 9:00 am until time of service on Friday at the church.  Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
