George Sosh, 78, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. He was born in Munich, Germany on September 24,1947, to Peter P and Maria K (Zintl) Sosh.
He graduated “with honors” from Ball State University in Engineering. He went on to work at Chrysler Corp. and served our country in the Army National Guard until his retirement at the age of 60, in 2007. While in the National Guard, he earned Honors for Expert Marksmanship and Leadership. George devoted his later years to taking care of his parents.
George is survived by his mother, Maria Katharina Sosh (95); sister, Tonya Nicole Yarnell (55); nephew, Ryan Patrick (Stephanie), Frantz and niece, Katharina Annaliese Frantz, in addition to 3 great nieces and 1 great nephew.
He was preceded in death by his father, Peter Paul Sosh (2009) and nephew, Garett Austin Frantz (2023).
A funeral service celebrating George’s life will take place at 2 pm on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, with Rev. Fr. Christopher Shocklee officiating. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery, with military honors provided by the United States Army and the Kokomo VFW Military Rites Team.
