Gary David Reed

Gary David Reed, 77, of Kokomo, passed away at 12:45 pm, Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Community Howard Regional Hospital in Kokomo. He was born on October 18, 1947, in Muncie, IN, the son of the late George Reed and Ellen M. (Eagen) Toops. On May 6, 1978, he married Judy D. VanBuskirk who preceded him in death on May 19, 2010.

Gary was a 1964 graduate of Muncie Central High School. He was a member of the Army National Guard. He worked in production at GM/Delphi for 47 years where he retired in 2007. Gary enjoyed woodworking and building furniture. He also liked to go hunting, fishing, and traveling.

He is survived by his children, Lisa (Eugene) Strouse and David Reed; grandchildren, John (Sarah) Barnes, Josh Strouse, Shelby Strouse, and Whitney Reed; sister, Diane Toops; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Along with his wife, Judy Reed, he was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Sharon Alred.
