Floyd "Buck" Lee Griffin Obituary

Floyd “Buck” Lee Griffin, 79, of Kokomo, passed away at 6:03 am on Monday, March 18, 2024, at his home. He was born on January 28, 1945, in Marion, the son of the late Glen and Hilda (Hasty) Griffin. Buck married Carolyn Montgomery, and she survives.

Buck retired from Marsh after 48 years working his way up to manager from a stock boy. He enjoyed playing lottery tickets, golfing, boating, fishing at Shamrock Lakes, and IU basketball. Buck cherished spending time with his family, and split time with his sister at the family cottage on Little Chapman for 15 years. He loved going to the casinos on Wednesday and was a perfectionist when it came to yardwork. Buck was an active member for ten years in the Masonic Lodge.

Along with his wife, Carolyn, Buck is survived by his daughter, Shelley Kemp; grandchildren, Daniel (Kristine) Griffin, Eric (Jessica) Griffin, and Kayla (Andrew) Tavares; great-grandchildren, Griffin Tavares, Gavin Tavares, Ganon Tavares, Gage Tavares, Bella Griffin, E.J. Griffin, Maddison Griffin, Mason Griffin, and Braiden Griffin; siblings, Joanne Riggs, Phyllis Persinger, and Mary Lou James; and several nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

Buck was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jeff Griffin; son-in-law, Ron Kemp; siblings, Jean Mullinex, and Doris Scott, and one brother-in-law.

In keeping with Buck’s wishes no services will be held at this time. Burial will take place at a later date at Riverside Cemetery. Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & crematory have been entrusted with cremation. Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirley andstout.com.
