Everett Dale Carter, 96, Valparaiso, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at AVIVA Valparaiso Assisted Living. He was born in Russiaville on May 10, 1929, to the late Oakley and Delta (Smith) Carter. He married the love of his life, Letitia "Tish” (Hite) Carter, in Kokomo on August 11, 1957, and she preceded him in death on April 18, 2019.
Dale worked for Lorentson Manufacturing in Kokomo as a Mold Maker. His faith in God was very important to Dale; he participated in multiple roles at the churches he attended throughout his life. He adored his wife, and they enjoyed time spent together gardening, traveling, and especially time with family. Dale had a fun-loving spirit that was contagious. His greatest accomplishment was loving others. He enjoyed sharing the joy that he had in his heart and making others smile. His best quality was being a loving husband and wonderful father.
Dale is survived by his daughters, Susan (Brian) Sewell, Deborah (Roland) Rohrer, and Cheryl Wallace; daughter-in-law, Margie (Brown) Carter; sister, Mary Taylor; sister-in-law, Carolyn Carter; brother-in-law, Wilfred (Nancy) Fox; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Letitia Carter; son, Joe Carter; son-in-law, Robert Henke; and siblings, Merle (Rheba) Carter, Esther Carter, John (Phyllis) Carter, Paul Carter, Lewis Taylor, and Gladys Fox.
Memorial contributions may be made in Dale’s name to Dunes Hospice, 4711 Evans Ave., Valparaiso, IN 46383.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10 am to 11 am Saturday July 19, 2025, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, IN 46979. A funeral service celebrating Dale’s life will begin 11 am on Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Brian Sewell officiating. Burial will follow in New London Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Dale’s name to Dunes Hospice, 4711 Evans Ave., Valparaiso, IN. 46383.
