Dorothy E. (Garner) Haulter, 99, of Kokomo, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025. She was born on January 10, 1926, to parents Leroy and Leona (Duncan) Garner in Swayzee, Indiana. On September 29, 1946, she married Eugene Haulter, and he passed away on March 1, 1994.
Dorothy began working at Indiana Bell in 1943 as a telephone operator in Alexandria, Indiana then transferred to Kokomo and eventually worked in the business office.
Dorothy loved the Lord and enjoyed teaching the Bible to children and adults. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and also attended Russiaville United Methodist Church.
Dorothy was dedicated to her family, she also loved playing games with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Words cannot express the love her family had for her. We could always go to grandma’s sit down and solve the problems of the world. She was always giving and encouraging to family and those that she felt needed encouragement or a helping hand.
She is survived by her sons, Larry (Sheila) Haulter and Brian (Karen) Haulter; grandsons, Adam (Tamela), Jeremy (Michelle), and Anthony (Kaleigh); great-granddaughters, Lola, Jillian, and Pressley.
