Doris Mary Cameron Brock died on May 7, 2022, in Kokomo, Indiana. Kay, as she liked to be called, was born in London, England November 6, 1928, to Charles and Doris (Bond) Cameron. She married Arthur L. Brock in London on Nov. 25, 1945. She said he was the best of men, a lovely man. She became a US citizen in 1953.
As a child, she was evacuated out of London to Peckforton castle in Cheshire to avoid the WWII bombings. She had a variety of jobs including selling candy at her family’s stall at Waterloo Station, usherette at the Palladium, lift operator, and Delco Radio. She was a caring mother and grandmother. She created amazing dress-up costumes. Kay was a fashion diva and could make a thrift outfit look like Dior.
Mary is survived by her children, Kenneth (Terri) Brock, Pamela (James)Ellis and Carol Daily Brock-Cameron; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Betty Simpson; and brother-in-law, Robert ”Dale” (Frankie) Brock.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents; sisters, Joyce, Violet and Lily; beloved in-laws, Hubert, Viola, Bessie, Walter Ray, John, Mary and Barbara.
