Donald “Don” Gene Nunnally

Donald “Don” Gene Nunnally, 82, of Kokomo, passed away at 9:07 am on June 18, 2025, at Community Heart & Vascular in Indianapolis. He was born on May 12, 1943, son of the late Cordell and Sylvia (Meeks) Nunnally. On July 12, 1991, he married Miriam D. (Tharp) Carpenter in Kokomo, IN and she survives.

Don attended Logansport High School before moving to Kokomo and graduated from Kokomo High School. Don served in the United States Air Force from 1961-1969, attaining the rank Staff Seargent. Don worked for Miller Beverage which became Mid-American Beverage prior to his retirement.  Following his retirement he went to work for his friend, Don Draper. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge, Moose Lodge, and Fairview Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Along with his wife, Miriam, he is survived by his children, Chuck (Janice) Nunnally, Steven “Joey” (Debby) Nunnally, Matt (Tammy) Carpenter, Vickie Nunnally, and Kathy (Greg) Davis; siblings, Jerry (Linda) Nunnally, Mike (Cathy) Nunnally, and Connie (Curtis) Routley; grandchildren, Steven (Heather) Nunnally, Charlie (Erica) Nunnally, Adam (Linda Baker) Jones, Alex Suchecki, Kelcey Snyder, Cassandra (Menasheh) Farahan, and Heather (Bryan) Roadruck; 22 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his parents and daughters, Jennifer Carpenter, Melisa Carpenter and Darlene Nunnally.

A memorial service celebrating Don’s life will be held at 12 pm on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Fairview Baptist Church, 2108 E Vaile Ave, Kokomo with Pastor Steve Sherwood and Pastor Andrew Bowen officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10 am to noon at the church. Shirley & Stout Funeral Homes & Crematory have been entrusted with arrangements.
