Donald "Don" Eugene Schwarzkopf

Donald “Don” Eugene Schwarzkopf, 91 years old, of Burlington, IN, passed away February 2, 2026, at his home. He was born in Logansport, IN, on May 1, 1934, to David and Geneva (Downhour) Schwarzkopf. On November 21, 1954, he married Carol Huffer, and she survives.

Don proudly served our country in the National Guard where he served as a Demo Expert. He was awarded the Sharpshooter medal during his years of service. He coached youth baseball for several years in Burlington. He was an avid Purdue Boilermaker and Indianapolis Colts fan. Don worked in the seed industry for over 50 years.

In addition to his wife Carol, Don is survived by his children, Mark Schwarzkopf, Kirk (Lori) Schwarzkopf, Gale Schwarzkopf, Myra (Darin) McFauls; 8 grandchildren, Kyle (Kecia) Schwarzkopf, Kara (J.P.) Stewart, Corey (LeAnn) Schwarzkopf, Sara Schwarzkopf, Tyler (Kelsie) McFauls, Hannah (Tyler) Daniels; 6 great-grandchildren, Brecklyn, Beau, Weston, Kolsen, Cooper, and Rylan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Martelle Todd; brothers, Dan Schwarzkopf, Richard “Dick” Schwarzkopf, and Doyne Schwarzkopf.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11 am to 1 pm Friday March 20, 2026, at the Jeff Stout Community Center, 650 N. West St., Russiaville, IN 46979. A memorial service celebrating Don’s life will begin 1 pm on Friday March 20, 2026, officiated by his son Mark Schwarzkopf. Military honors will begin at 1 pm at the Community Center by the United States Army and the Kokomo VFW.
