Donald Glen Knight, 82, Kokomo, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo. Born on August 30, 1939, in Kokomo to the late William and Mildred (Williams) Knight. In 2005 he married Theresa Opelt, and she survives.
Don graduated from Western High School in 1958. After school he joined the United States Army Reserve. He worked for GM for 36 years designing circuit boards. He owned several businesses in Kokomo and Rochester with his longtime friend Dave Miller. He was a member of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer. Don enjoyed traveling to Florida for many winters with Theresa where he owned a condo in St. Petersburg. Some of his hobbies include watching old cowboy movies, collecting coins, watching the History channel, and football games.
Along with his wife, Don is survived by his three sons, Donald Ryan (Amy) Knight, Chris (Miranda) Knight, and Michael (Sheyla) Knight; two daughters, Andrea (Brian) Harris and Theresa (Bruce) Williams; step-children, Kelly Andrews and Scott Opelt; eight grandchildren, Rylyn, Gage, Kolvin, Saylor, Major, Wynn, Lauren, and Anna; step grandson, K.J.; and brother-in-law, Fred Holder
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barbara Holder; and nephew, Denny Holder.
Funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, June 17, 2022, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo. Friends may visit with the family from 12 pm to 1 pm on Friday at the funeral home. Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
