Donald Edward "Don" Daily
February 22, 1961 ~ November 10, 2023 (age 62) 62 Years Old
Donald Edward “Don” Daily, 62, Kokomo, passed away at 1:01 pm Friday, November 10, 2023, at his home. He was born February 22, 1961, in Kokomo, the son of the late Mark A. & Donna D. (Frazer) Daily.
Don was a 1979 graduate of Northwestern High School. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Ball State University. He worked as a counselor for Logansport Juvenile Correctional Facility for the past 20 years. Don was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Orthodox Christian Church. He was also a member of Phi Delta Kappa in Kokomo. Don was a Chicago Bears fan, history buff and a National Park and hiking enthusiast. He loved all genres of music, living life and was considered to have a dry sense of humor and be witty.
Don is survived by his daughters, Madeline Daily, Elizabeth (Isaac) Miller and Anastasia (Abraham) Toothman; grandchildren, Rosie and Harry; siblings, Janny Varnau, Sherry (Gary) Gillund, Tim (Amy) Daily, Doug (Anna Marie) Daily and Mark Daily, along with 16 nieces and nephews and 23 great-nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; niece, Annalisa Varnau; and brother-in-law, Vic Varnau.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4-7 pm Thursday, November 16, 2023, at St. Thomas the Apostle Orthodox Christian Church, 914 W. Taylor Street, Kokomo, with a Panakhida to follow at 7:00 pm at the church.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Friday, November 17, 2023, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1229 N. Washington Street, Kokomo, with V. Rev. Philip Vernon Lashbrook officiating. Burial will follow in Kokomo Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Don’s memory to St. Thomas the Apostle Orthodox Christian Church.
