Dixie Evelyn Howard, 80, Russiaville, passed away at 3:18 a.m. on Friday, March 29, 2019, at her home. She was born January 27, 1939, in Kokomo, to Caleb and Nora (Fernung) Lawson. On February 16, 1962, she married Ronald Howard, in Kokomo, and he survives.
Dixie graduated from Bunker Hill High School in 1957 and worked for General Motors for 27 years before retiring. She enjoyed arts and crafts and taking pictures. She was a member of Beulah Land Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Michael (Lisa) Howard and Mark Howard; grandson, Cody Howard; granddaughter, Cameron Howard; brother, David Lawson; sisters, Diane (Charlie) Watkins, Beverly Rodgers and Karen Hale; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Michael Christopher Howard; sisters, Rita Beatty; nieces, Katie Beatty, Sherri Kay and Teri Kay; and great-nephew, Josh Hale.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at Gospel Light Mission Church, 1407 Belmont Ave., Kokomo, with Pastor Terry Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Russiaville Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville.
