Diane Louise (Shearer) Huffman

Diane Louise Huffman, 61, Kokomo, passed away at 4:13 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2019, at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo.  She was born April 24, 1958, in Kokomo, to James K. and Barbara (Carr) Shearer.  On October 9, 1982, she married Brian Edward Huffman, in Kokomo, and he survives.

Diane graduated from Northwestern High School in 1976 and attended Ball State University.  She worked at St. Joseph Hospital in respiratory therapy and had also worked at Kokomo Animal Hospital and Shady Kennels.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandson and taking care of animals.  She was a member of Sigma Kappa at Ball State and Main Street United Methodist Church in Kokomo.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Amy Huffman, of Kokomo; grandson, Hudson Weaver; brother, Brian (Debbie) Shearer, of Kokomo; and sister, Marcia Shearer, of Reno, Nevada.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Patrick Joseph Huffman.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2019, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, with Pastor Jason Grant officiating.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Contributions may be made in Diane’s memory to the Kokomo Humane Society.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
