Dean Reynolds, Jr. Obituary

Russell Dean Reynolds Jr., 75, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at 6:26 am, at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo. He was born in Peru, on February 21, 1947, to Russell Dean and Dorothy Jean (Carpenter) Reynolds. Dean married Marcia Smith on October 1, 1966, and she survives.

Dean was a 1965 graduate of Maconaquah High School and in 1966 he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served until 1970. In 1978, Dean graduated from Purdue University with his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and he worked as an Electrical Engineer, at Delco, for 44 years. Dean was an avid fan of IU basketball and the Indianapolis Colts. He really enjoyed fishing trips with his Delco buddies and coaching his daughters in basketball. Dean was a dedicated worker and loved God, his country, and his family. He was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.

Dean is survived by his wife, Marcia; daughters, Lindsay (Ralph) Mongosa, Megan (Jarred) King, and Erica (Heather) Reynolds; beloved nephew, Derek Miller; grandchildren, Ava, Olivia, and Trevor Reynolds, Maylee and Molly King, and Zoey Miller; nieces, Kelly (Dave) Sidwell, Michelle (Mike) Shane, Shelly Burton, Dawn Stambaugh, Alison (Chad) Jung, and Brandy Lane; nephews, Ryan (Jennifer) Watts, Jason (Melissa) Reynolds, and Josh Reynolds; much loved sisters-in-law, Marilyn Watts, Sherry Wilson, and Laurie Reynolds.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dennis Reynolds; grandson, Callan Reynolds; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, JoEllen and Randy Miller; and brother-in-law, Jim Wilson.

Funeral services for Dean will be at 5:30 pm on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Shiloh United Methodist Church, 5741 W 100 N, Kokomo, IN 46901. Friends may visit with the family Tuesday, from 3 pm until the time of the service. Military honors will be provided by the United States Air Force and the Kokomo VFW Military Rites Team. A private burial will be held in South Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Shiloh United Methodist Church.
