Deacon Ronald Louis Morrow Obituary

Deacon Ronald Louis Morrow, 80, of Kokomo, passed away at his home at 3:47 a.m. on Monday, June 2, 2025. He was born May 10, 1945, in Flint, Michigan, to Charles L. and Helen (Sisovsky) Morrow. On September 23, 1967, he married Rita Carol Schoner, in Plymouth, Indiana, and she survives.

Ron graduated from Kokomo High School in 1963. He later earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University in 1989, followed by a Master of Science in Management in 1991, also from Indiana Wesleyan. In 2001, he received a Master of Arts in Practical Theology from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. From 1967 to 1973, Ron served in the United States Army National Guard, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. He worked as an electrician at Delco Electronics, where he eventually retired. A devoted member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Ron was ordained to the Sacred Order of Deacon for the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana on September 17, 2005. He was a hospital chaplain and was actively involved in several ministries, including the Prison Ministry and the Haiti Ministry. He was also a member of the Serra Club, the Knights of Columbus, and the Secular Franciscans, faithfully serving his church and community throughout his life.

In addition to his wife, Rita Morrow, survivors include his children, David L. Morrow and the mother of their children-Pamela, Brian C. (Heather) Morrow, Scott P. Morrow, Stephanie L. (Tim) Zwiefelhofer, Jason A. (Natalie) Morrow, Karen M. (Mike) Ellis, Kevin J. (Teena) Morrow, and Steven C. (Jenny) Morrow; grandchildren, Hannah Morrow, Rachel Morrow, Adam Morrow, Olivia (Zack) Kidwell, Alex Morrow, Jacob Morrow, Ryan Morrow, Isabel Morrow, Joshua Morrow, Abigail Morrow, Emily Morrow, Bradley Morrow, Makayla Ellis, Annalese Ellis, Samuel Ellis, Katelynn Ellis, Quentin Ellis, Trinity Ellis, Blaise Ellis, Leah Morrow, Gavin Morrow, Lauren Morrow, and Ryker Morrow; great-grandchildren, Bellamy, Aralynn, and Lachlan Kidwell; brother, Richard (Rose) Morrow; and sister, Diane (Richard) Ash.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1229 N. Washington St., Kokomo, with Bishop Timothy Doherty the celebrant and Deacon Chuck Springer the homilist. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery with Fr. Christopher Shocklee presiding. Military honors will be provided by the United States Army and the Kokomo VFW Military Rites Team. The Rosary will be offered at 3 p.m. on Friday at the church followed by visitation until 7 p.m. and then a Scripture Service beginning at 7 p.m. with Fr. Dominic Petan presiding. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ron’s memory to the St. Patrick Catholic Church-Haiti Mission or the Poor Clares.
