David Wayne Kelly

David “Dave” Wayne Kelly, 64 years old, of Kokomo, passed away 8:47 am Sunday January 11, 2026, at his home. He was born in Jackson, LA, on April 25, 1961, the son of Henry and Mariella (Reinhart) Kelly.

Dave was a graduate of Haworth High School. Dave held employment at various places like Bona Vista, Kokomo Pottery, but mainly worked at Village Pantry in Kokomo. He proudly served our country in the United States Army. He always had a positive outlook on life and was an easy going man. He was natural at socializing with people and would often check in on people to genuinely ask how they were doing. Dave was honored and dedicated to be the best father, brother, and Pop Pop to his family. He enjoyed playing video games and wrestling with his grandson.

He is survived by his son, Michael (Susie) Horne; mother, Mariella Kelly; grandchildren, Jakson Horne, Lorelai Horne; siblings, Dean Kelly, Terry Kelly, Gordy Kelly, Helen “Dusty” Barker; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and a nephew.

A memorial visitation will take place from 1 pm to 3 pm Tuesday January 20, 2026, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, IN 46902. Military honors will be provided by the United States Army and Kokomo VFW Military Rites Team at 3 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
