Cynthia Mygrant Obituary

Cynthia Lou (McClurg) Mygrant, 70, of Kokomo, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 23, 2020. She was born on July 18, 1949 to her parents, Rexford Eldon & Florentine Anzletta (King) McClurg.

Cindy graduated from Huntington High School in the Class of 1967. Soon after, she got married and started her family. She always had a job, and was an extremely dependable wife and mother for her 3 children. Cindy was thankful for her life, and handled herself with grace. She was a pastor’s wife, and very willingly learned and accepted everything that role called of her. Much joy came to Cindy during those years, but there were also many sacrifices made for the betterment of those she loved. It is safe to say Cindy lived a very unselfish life; often putting the needs of others ahead of her own. Her faithful walk with the Lord was a true testament and example to many of the sacrificial love that believers should reflect to the world.

Cindy did not make a lot of time for herself; however, she did enjoy cooking, reading her Bible, and going out to lunch with her beloved girlfriends. She was fortunate enough to have some women in her life who were loyal, encouraging, and, most importantly, took the time to pray for her. Cindy valued these relationships very much. Above all, Cindy’s children and grandchildren were absolutely precious to her. She supported each of them, and prayed diligently for God’s favor and blessing in each of their lives.

As described by her children, Cindy was innocently funny, kindhearted, strong willed, beautiful, very compassionate, maternal, an amazing cook, angelic, totally grounded in the Lord, and loved without condition.  Even though her earthly body failed her, her faith, unwavering love, and undying spiritual strength will live on in the lives of her children, grandchildren and all future generations. Cindy was a gift in the hearts of many and is missed beyond measure!

Those left to carry on Cindy’s legacy of love are her children, Thomas David (Teresa) Mygrant, Ted Eldon (Tanya) Mygrant, Heather Renee Mygrant; grandchildren, Layton Mygrant, Aleya Mygrant, Alex Mygrant, Teddie Mygrant, Blayne (Hannah) Cowan, Clayton Cowan, Miriam Cowan, Gavin Mygrant; brother-in-law, Dick Wolf; sister-in-law, Belle McClurg; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Cindy was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, Rexford & Florentine McClurg; and siblings, Carol Wolf and Charles McClurg.

A funeral service celebrating Cindy’s life will take place at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 28, 2020 at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, located at 1315 W. Lincoln Rd. in Kokomo, with Pastor Brian Hughes officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place immediately following the service in Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Marion.

Memorial contributions in Cindy’s honor can be made to First Assembly of God Church in Kokomo.

Proverbs 31: 25-31

She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed. Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all. Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring praise at the city gate.
