Clarence F. “Army” Armstrong, 91, Greentown, passed away at 4:11 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at Community Howard Regional Hospital in Kokomo. He was born August 1, 1927, in Howard County, to Frederick Lewis and Adah Francis (DeWitt) Armstrong. On March 10, 1951, he married Billie Gwen Hahn, and she preceded him in death on November 15, 2013.
Clarence graduated from Greentown High School in 1945 and served in the United States Army. He worked at Chrysler, in Kokomo, and retired after 31 years of service there. He was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed golfing and spending time with family.
Survivors include his daughters, Darlene (Steven) Wick, of Ft. Wayne, and Nikke (Ted) Hullinger, of Greentown; son, Marty (Loretta) Armstrong, of Galveston; grandchildren, Evan Chute, of Colorado, Joseph (Holly) Hullinger, of Greentown, Jeremy (Ada) Hullinger, of Greentown, Jeremy Armstrong, of Greentown, and Candice Armstrong, of Greentown; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Edna Kidwell, of Kokomo; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Armstrong; grandson, David Chute; one sister; and four brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at Hasler-Stout Funeral Home, 112 E. Main St., Greentown, with Pastor Jason Grant officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery with military honors provided by the Greentown American Legion. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday all at the funeral home.
